A Life Complete : Finding Peace and Purpose at Midlife
Published in Paperback by Fireside (August, 1901)
Author: Sallirae Henderson
Average review score:

must read for mid-lifers
Sallirae Henderson has written a beautiful, wise, and compassionate guide to becoming a complete person before it is too late.

Excellent Midlife Book
This book gave practical ideas to be used to strive for a completed life, a life of fulfillment in our elder years. I found many ideas to begin implimenting now, such as learning to be my own best friend and learning to receive graciously from others.
Sallirae gives many life examples, some taken from her experiences counselling elders in a nursing home environment.
This book should be read by mid-lifers. It provokes much thought about how we want to be at the end of our lives.

Beautifully illstrated
This is one of the best dinosaur books availible. Even if your child is not a huge dinosuar fan, this book will probably appeal to them.

LIVING WITH DINOSAURS
This is a fantastic dinosaur book, intended for youngsters but enjoyable by older dinosaurophiles as well! LIVING WITH DINOSAURS explores the various habitats of early Late Cretaceous Montana and their inhabitants, which include not only dinosaurs (famous ones being Maiasaura, Corythosaurus, Albertosaurus, and Troodon) but their neighbors (pterosaurs, marine reptiles, sharks, primitive seabirds, mammals, and others), hence the name of the book. Henderson's artwork is very dramatic, very beautiful, and very impressive, and fans of dinosaur art (such as myself) will simply gobble them up. A definite must for ANY dinosaurophile's library! -- Rachel K. Clar

Masonic World Guide

Travel Guide for Freemasons
This book was a classic, and an authoritative reference for those interested in Freemasonry around the world. The book was invaluable as a travel guide and also of interest to the armchair traveller.

Kent Henderson and Tony Pope have now produced two volumes in paperback entitled "Freemasonry Universal - a new guide to the Masonic world". Volume 1 - The Americas was produced in 1998 and Volume 2 - Africa, Europe, Asia and Oceania in 2000 (published by Global Masonic Publications, Williamstown, Victoria, Australia). This new publication is the current standard reference in the field of Masonic Travel Guides. ...

A Traveling Man's Companion
I've had this book for several years and have referred to it many times to advise traveling members of the fraternity concerning local traditions and customs as they vary from state to state, country to country. The author has done extensive research and his focus on masonic protocol is excellent. This book is an invaluable reference for any mason who travels outside his own jurisdiction.

Montessori Resources for the 1990's: A Complete Guide to Finding Montessori Materials for Parents and Teachers
Published in Paperback by American Montessori Consulting (July, 1997)
Authors: Heidi Anne Spietz and Frances Henderson

Montessori Resources - A Very Complete Guide
As one who is helping set up the learning environment for a
Montessori school, I really didn't know where to begin. As a teacher, I know what materials have worked for the students I have worked with. However, being limited to just working with children at the 3 -6 level, I really didn't have appropriate recommendiations for the other grade levels.

My colleagues and I looked at several vendors, but the choices can really be overwhelming. We needed a source where we could read and receive some objective feedback as to what we needed for our situation. We found the answers to many of our questions in the Montessori Resources book.

We received our copy about two weeks ago, and it has been read by two of my colleagues who have also found the reviews to be useful as we try to decide what to purchase. We have been allocated just so much money to spend for furniture and supplies. Because our budget is so limited, we can't really afford to make costly mistakes.

The time that went into the reviewing and the organized way in which the reviews are presented are what stands out most in my mind about this book. We are in the process of contacting the companies, and feel that we can really make some informed decisions.

I learned about many new products that I didn't even realize were out there, and I can see that we will be able to afford a few of these and use them in the classroom as well. I also appreciated all of the free resources - many of which I didn't even know existed.

Montessori Resources - All in one package
What stands out about this book are the reviews of each product or organization mentioned. I appreicated knowing that someone had actually taken the time to look at all of the products and other resources out there and select the ones most beneficial to the school teacher using Montessori. Although, I know many home schoolers looking for curriculum and educational supplies will find the book to be useful as well, this guide is very helpful if you are just beginning to purchase supplies for a school and need information.

The book is divided into chapters according to subjects like art, foreign language, math and language, but there are special sections for practical life exercises and organizations too.

My husband and I will be opening our school in September, and the book helped us select the materials we needed quickly and efficiently.

The review of the different websites was helpful too.

Off Base: Confessions of a Thief

Great Book for Rickey Fans
This book is a must for all Rickey fans. Henderson holds little back in his autobiography. He's a touch arrogant, but he's earned that right; with the single season set (and likely not to be broken in today's baseball) and the career mark out of reach. If you like Rickey, then you'll like this book.

The best ever.
This book simply shows how good Rickey Henderson is, both on the field and off. He takes you behind the scenes of his 20 year career in the major leagues and what it took for him to get there. From the early little league games in Oakland to his 939th Stolen Base...Rickey Henderson is truly a living legend in what he does....BEING THE GREATEST LEADOFF HITTER OF ALL TIME!!

Path of Fire (Indigo: Sensuous Love Stories)

An African Adventue!
Another wonderful book by Henderson. This was a very exciting one! The discription of the setting was just the right thing to add to this terrific love story. Joseph Desire(dosen't he sound sexy) and Tia are great together. I think this classifies as a love at first sight, I think! Great read!!

EXcellent Book!
This was my second book I have read by this author. Most of the romance genre storylines normally take place in the United States but here the author gives us Africa as the setting. The plot involves a divorcee named Christina, called Tia, Algood and Joseph Desire' who is a Tutsi rebel commander. Tia is in Africa as an aid worker for Feed the World. The author has written such an interesting story that of course has the love attraction between Joseph and Tia; but also manages to provide such a vivid picture of not only Africa but what takes place during those ethnic cleansings we hear about everyday in the news. The author has done so well in developing such an interesting story, you actually can feel yourself being right there like Tia and also feel the hurt and pain that causes Joseph to be involved in all of these killings. But you must read this book to find out, how in the midst of all what is happening around Tia and Joseph, the blessings they both receive from one another. It is a book well worth reading and on one end it felt too real! Ms Henderson, thanks for this great story and looking forward to another one soon! By the way, check out Ms Henderson's other published book that is good likewise...it's called, "Passion".

Pilgrimage the First Book of the People

One of the best books I have ever read!
I have to agree with the other review. The people are to real. I base most of my beliefs and my life on this book and the other books about the people. It has helped me with raising my children and with handling all of lifes issues. A must for all to read!

The People is US - we've just forgotten ourselves.
I have devoured every one of Zenna Henderson's books on the People, with the nagging conviction that there was very little "fiction" about it. It seems to me the abilities of the People are abilities we might well have had in the past, and forgotten. Perhaps with the raising of consciousness that is occurring now, we may just be able to remember. For the sake of the world, I hope so. I believe it was her books read as a young teenager which started my own explorations into what being 'Human' means and what we might really be capable of if we try.

Priscilla and Aquila
Published in Paperback by Word Publishing (November, 1986)
Authors: Lois T. Henderson and Harold Ivan Smith
Average review score:

A Love Story for All Time
I have read this book several times and have encouraged others to read it. It is a love story for all time. Beautifully portraying Priscilla and Aquila and their time spent together in support of Paul. Today's modern woman might at first bristle at the thought of a woman eating separate from the man and some of the other customs decribed from the time. However, when the reader takes the deeper look and puts the story in perspective of the New Testament time and culture in which it is written, the incredible love story woven between these two will permeate your own relationships and enlarge your heart.

Beautifully Written Biblical Novel
"Priscilla and Aquila" is an amazing book full of romance, history, adventure, and a correct portrayal of two Biblical characters that you only see a quick glimpse of in Scripture. Lois T. Henderson did wonders with this book, making the young couple become real people who went through many trials and tribulations beyond their control. Set in the days of the Apostle Paul's 2nd missionary journey, the author gracefully weaves history and Biblical truth into an intriguing novel. The book begins in the city of Rome, then Corinth, and finally Ephesus, where Priscilla and Aquila glean from Paul's teaching. The three missionaries travel together, work together, and share the common bond of being Jehovites and Followers of the "Way". While reading the book you see a completely different perspective on Paul, his life and ministry for Jesus Christ. It portrays not only Paul's fervor in his ministry but also Priscilla's love for learning and teaching. This book gives so much insight into God's Word and provides several special examples of those who lived to honor God and devoted their very beings to serve Him by stepping out on the limb of strong faith. I definitely recommend this book to those of you who really want to dig deeper into Scripture, who want to experience a book that not only provides incomparable entertainment, but also enlightens an amazing passage of God's Word with two very special, unknown characters.
